It's that time of year again! We celebrate everything that makes St. Louis, MO, a great place to live and thrive. We raise our glasses to toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake while donning our best Cardinals gear. We tour all of the best 314 Day events with our coolest friends, dancing and singing along to our favorite Nelly songs. March 14th is our day to recommit our love for the city. Whether you are a native or a transplant, St. Louis pride shines brightly on this special day.

The Meaning of St. Louis

For all of us who call St. Louis home, the city holds a personal meaning. For me, it is clear. This city is a landscape of opportunities and possibilities. As I drive down Washington Ave, I see an inspiring mural of Josephine Baker. I stand in front of the Old Courthouse, where Dred and Harriet Scott pleaded their case. I’ve even ridden the Arch tram, 630 feet above the ground. Each of these moments reminds me of the incredible spirit that defines this city.

The collective story of St. Louis is one of perseverance and resilience. It declares, "You can be who you want to be." The journey may not always be easy, but it is certainly possible. Icons such as Annie Malone, Chuck Berry, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Tina Turner, Kate Chopin, Nikki Glaser, Andy Cohen, and Jenifer Lewis are proof of this.

The Spirit of Community

As this monumental day approaches, I reflect on how this city has shaped me. It has molded me into a community guide and an advocate for all who live and visit. The amazing people, vibrant businesses, delicious food, rich history, and diverse culture inspire me to embark on this tour of a lifetime.
